August 25–26, 2010
Today we traveled from Medicine Hat, AB to Regina, SK. Regina is the Provincial Capitol of Saskatchewan. We traveled through mile after mile of prairie and farm land. As it was a long travel day, we just kicked back and relaxed after setting up camp.
On Thursday, we went into the city. Our first stop was Wascana Park. This ia a huge, beautiful park, where the Provincial Legislature, University of Regina, Royal museum, Science Centre, and the Queen Elizabeth Gardens are located. In the Gardens, is a statue of Queen Elizabeth II on her favorite horse. The real horse was presented to the Queen by the RCMP. There are also walking, jogging, & bike paths throughout the park. While we were there, there was a kayaking regatta going on. We watched some of the races. After leaving the park, we toured the rest of the city.
