Day 7

Shelby, MT

After some overnight rain in Helena, MT, we headed north to Shelby, Mt. Shelby is a small town about 30 miles south of the Canadian Border. We had a smooth trip. The first part was throufh the forest north of Helena. Lots of trees, streams, and rivers. We followed the Missouri River for the better part of that trip, losing it just South of Great Falls, MT. The attached photo, is the Missouri at Craig, MT. The Missouri's head waters are just north of I-90, and east of Butte, MT. It meanders north through the mountains, then turns east at Great Falls, into North Dakota before heading South East and meeting up with the Mississippi. Most of the day, we had left over clouds from the night before storms, and the weather was cool. As we approached Shelby, we saw more of the sun and it was quite windy. Fortunately, the wind died in the evening, so we didn't have to try to sleep with the motorhome rocking and rolling.
